Sometimes when access to a MetaMask wallet has been lost and the seed phrases long forgotten, we are able to access encrypted data held within MetaMask and extract the seed words that enable the wallet and it’s contents to be re-instated.

This method works best on Windows and Mac computers and is possible even if the original wallet has been deleted and a new one re-installed. It also works to a limited amount on iOS phones, but currently we don’t have a fix for this on Android devices.

The extraction and decryption process eventually leads to this data which contains the seed words (we’ve obscured 4 of them)
